Integrity comes at a cost; sometimes a hefty one. I'm well aware of the fact that we could pack our restaurant out with Caymus, Silver Oak and PlumpJack wine dinners.
But I wouldn't be able to sleep well at night if we did. So, I refuse to. Instead, we choose to partner with wineries and winemakers that hold the same values and principles that we do.
We value things like estate grown, family owned, sustainably farmed, artisan made. And while sometimes that means not filling the house, it is still worth it to hold true to those principles. And sometimes, that commitment to integrity results in one of the oldest and greatest wineries in all of Australia personally reaching out to collaborate on a wine dinner with you!!
And that is EXACTLY what happened to us. I couldn't be more thrilled to announce that we have the honor of hosting world renowned winery, YALUMBA, for an incredibly intimate and exclusive wine dinner on Tuesday, October 8th.
Joining us is Brand Ambassador, Head of Sustainability, and former Head of Winemaking...Louisa Rose.
Yalumba was founded in 1849 and is a 6th generation, family-owned estate in the Barossa Valley of Australia. They have been family owned and operated for 175 years!
Amongst other things, Yalumba is the only winery in the Southern Hemisphere with their own on-site cooperage. They also have their own on-site grapevine nursery.
Since Louisa is coming to The Hobbit, we're pulling out all the stops to feature the best line up of wines we've ever served. No Joke.
Given that Louisa just recently retired from her role as Head of Winemaking, that means she made all of the wines that we'll be showcasing!
